Yin Yoga is a slower paced practice of yoga, where poses are set up in a supported way using props (blocks, bolsters, blankets) and held for 3-5 minutes before rebounding in an opposing posture for a minute to release any tension.
How does Yin Yoga work?
As your body is supported in the posture, your muscles are able to relax (where otherwise they would engage) allowing your bones, joints, connective tissue, and more to be stretched, strengthened and compressed.
How will I benefit from Yin yoga?
By practicing Yin yoga, you can expect to reach deeper stretches, improve your mobility and strengthen your connective tissue. With Yin yoga’s slower pace, you will have more space to practice meditation and learn how to clear your mind and bring yourself into the present moment.
